Principals
David L. Duplantis, PE
David has served as DDG President since founding the company in 1997. Under his leadership, the firm has grown from a single office with a handful of employees to a multidisciplinary services operation with three Louisiana offices, a Texas location and more than 60 talented employees. With the support of his partners, David oversees the company’s daily operations (including administrative and accounting functions), promotes DDG’s core values internally and externally, and drives new discipline development (land surveying, 1999; architectural services, 2000).
During his more than 20 years of professional experience, David has assisted local, regional and national clients in all aspects of civil engineering, including site planning, site work (grading and drainage), hydrology, hydraulics, water design, sewer design, permitting and representation at public hearings. DDG’s growth and repeat client business have led to David being registered in over 30 states.
David is a 1987 civil engineering (BS) graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette). Before establishing DDG, he spent 10 years in the fabrication industry with Gulf Marine Fabricators (Corpus Christi, TX), and the consulting industry with Robertson Loia and Roof (Atlanta, GA) and Wolverton & Associates (Atlanta, GA and Baton Rouge, LA).
David and his wife Mary are the actively involved parents of their four children, Tyler, Kaley, Ryan and Jacob.
Stephen M. Viguerie, AIA, LEED AP
Stephen joined DDG in 1998 as the first architect on staff, yet spent his initial two years with the firm managing the civil engineering design on large commercial retail developments. In 2000, he played a key role in beginning and developing the firm’s architecture group, where he currently serves as a senior project manager. Stephen’s day-to-day role involves business development, design team management and contract administration for a multitude of private and public sector projects.
Prior to joining DDG, Stephen was a project architect with Cheramie/Whitney Architects and managed a wide range of work from pre-design through construction administration. He holds a bachelor of architecture degree from Louisiana State University and is a registered architect in 31 states. He is also a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Board and the American Institute of Architects, serving as a board member at the local and state levels. Stephen and his wife, Madonna Babin Viguerie, live in the Houma/Thibodaux area with their children, James, Erin and Luke. Away from work, he enjoys fishing, hunting and LSU athletics.
Ricky Galloway, PE
Ricky leads DDG’s Civil Engineering Department, as well as overseeing Quality Control/Quality Assurance. A Professional Engineer since 1999, he joined the firm in 2001 and became a principal in 2006. He is licensed in 29 states.
After graduating from Louisiana State University in 1994 with a BS degree in civil engineering, Ricky worked with the Louisiana DOTD construction section, then spent more than three years as a field engineer and project manager with Huey Stockstill, Inc. General Highway Contractor. His professional portfolio includes project work for Wal-Mart, Target, Publix, FedEx distribution center, FEMA temporary housing facilities, FEMA grant applications, Lafourche Parish roadway projects, numerous public water and sewer projects, and port and airport facility design.
A native of Mandeville, Louisiana, Ricky now resides in Thibodaux.
Lloyd A. “Andy” Positerry, II, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP
Andy joined DDG in September 2000 and serves as the firm’s architectural business unit leader, managing the department’s daily activities, workload, personnel and quality-control measures. In his tenure at DDG, Andy has designed, coordinated, managed and administered construction for many private and public projects, including office buildings, educational facilities, healthcare facilities, retail buildings, bank buildings, industrial facilities and roof replacement projects.
Prior to joining DDG, Andy worked at two other South Louisiana architectural firms. He has overseen the complete range of architectural services including pre-design, construction team coordination, construction budgeting, planning, bidding, permitting and construction administration on a wide variety of new construction and renovation projects.
Andy received his bachelor of architecture degree from Louisiana State University in 1992 and became a registered architect in Louisiana in 1995. He is currently licensed in over 30 states, is NCARB certified and in 2008 became a LEED Accredited Professional, helping to position DDG at the forefront of the sustainable design movement.
Matthew K. Newchurch PE, MBA, LEED AP, CPESC, CPSWQ
Firm Principal Matthew Newchurch oversees DDG’s Houston office and is its engineer of record, providing design guidance and consulting services for various commercial and industrial projects across the region. Matthew returned to his hometown of Thibodaux, Louisiana, in 2000 to join the DDG family after several years with Schulmberger Oilfield Services in Texas and Oklahoma. He has since worked with numerous clients across the country on a wide variety of projects.
Combining his BS degree in environmental engineering from Louisiana State University with experience in many of the South’s more environmentally progressive areas, Matthew is well versed in various green development technologies and techniques, including those required for LEED Certification, Brownsfield Redevelopment and sound NPDES Compliance. For projects with tighter scopes, his graduate coursework in business and experience in multiple fast-paced sectors have given Matthew strong practical knowledge of how to overcome the fiscal challenges faced by many projects.
Matthew and his wife are the proud parents of three children.
Tommy Buckel, PE
Tommy joined the DDG staff in 2003 after working as a project manager for Wolverton & Associates and Design Engineering Inc. He has practiced civil engineering in the Atlanta and New Orleans areas, specializing in site development for large commercial developments, as well as road design projects for local governments. Tommy has prepared hundreds of conceptual site plans and cost estimates for commercial developers, working with clients in more than 30 states. His experience includes land subdivision, rezoning, annexation, master planning, site development plans and infrastructure improvements.
Tommy holds a bachelor's degree in civil Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) and is a registered engineer in seven states. He is a member of several community and professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Louisiana Engineering Society (LES), American Council of Engineers Consultants (ACEC) and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
Shane Guin, PE, MBA, CPESC, CPSWQ
A DDG team member since 2005 and principal since 2008, Shane currently serves as Director of Business Development and Special Projects, evaluating and implementing market strategies in pursuit of the firm’s continued growth and success.
Shane has more than ten years experience in structural design, site development, public works and general civil design. He began his career as a structural engineer for petrochemical firms such as Jacobs Engineering Group and CBI, then broadened his experience and skill set by moving to general civil design with Adams Engineering. His wide project experience and graduate coursework have equipped him with an intimate understanding of the overall project cycle, from conceptual funding and scope formulation to construction completion.
A proud Texas A&M University former student, Shane resides in Thibodaux, Louisiana, with his wife and two boys.
